Back in 1975, after their first album and tour, I became the keyboardist in the group White Lightnin’.
We were set to record the group’s second album at Bob Marley’s studio in Jamaica, but we ended up recording at CRC Studios in Chicago.
Before forming White Lightnin’ with drummer/brother Woody Kinsey (Albert King), and bassist Busta Jones (Talking Heads, Eno), guitarist Donald Kinsey had played lead guitar for Marley, including on some of his biggest hits.
Pic is the first White Lightnin’ album cover. It was designed by Mati Klarwein, the same artist who did Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew.
We all salute and appreciate Bob Marley and his tremendous contribution to music and culture!
