I was at both Ramones/Skafish shows at Bginnings and the Monopoly. Just some wonderful memories of my youth and the excitement that the early punk scene brought!

Your story is sympatico with me — that kind of thing happened to me a lot (in addition to it happening when I was with Joey Ramone) except no one was ever polite to me. (LOL)

The story of the Joey Ramone at the grocery reminds me of an incident experienced by one of my bands – not too many years ago! We were driving to Cleveland at night and stopped at a rural service station for gas and snacks. The lone clerk looked pretty nervous as he saw two big black guys come in, leading a bunch of scraggly looking white guys. As we looked around the shop, a Leslie Gore song started on the radio, to which we started snapping our fingers and singing along. Given how we looked, it was absurd! I can’t say that this exactly put the clerk at ease (probably thinking “WTF?”) but he finally greeted us with “How you fellas doing?” I would guess that we were the equivalent of a UFO sighting.

These blogs are a great idea. Very cool, indeed.
