Their opening band, I fondly recall, was the Runaways. What a fabulous double bill. Your story is both funny and poignant, as I agree that Joey could have exploded the music scene, especially that genre, if he was still around. I think it is important that the history of punk rock/new wave be remembered by those who lived it. I remember visiting New York in the early 80s and checking out “Manic Panic”. Years later I saw most of the documentary on them. Joey reminded me of Howard Stearns.
